    • About Us

      Little’Uns is a privately owned nursery and opened in September 2013.

      Once you have viewed our nursery we are sure that you will realise that we create a fun and loving environment, to provide and promote the very best in childcare and education. We pride ourselves in offering a ‘home from home’ environment for the children where they are nurtured and motivated to grow as individuals. Above all, we can assure you that once in the nursery your children will be completely safe and secure, but most of all, happy.

      Our staff at Little’Uns  are there to guide you through the whole process of settling in your child and your induction process to nursery. They will discuss your needs, respond to any questions you might have and help you in any way they can.

      Little’Uns Daycare aims to:

      1.Provide high quality care and education for children from three months until they start school.

      2.Work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop;

      3.Add to the life and well-being of its local community; and

      4.Offer children and their parents a service which promotes equality and values diversity.

      As a member of Little’Uns Daycare, your child:

      1.Is in a safe and stimulating environment;

      2.Is given generous care and attention, because of our high ratio of adults to children;

      3.Has the chance to join in with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together;

      4.Is helped to take forward her/his learning and development by being helped to build on what she/he already knows and can do;

      5.Has a personal key person who makes sure your child makes satisfying progress;

      6.Is in a Nursery which sees you as a partner in helping your child to learn and develop and

      7.Is in a Nursery in which parents help to shape the service it offers

      All staff at Little’Uns have an enhanced CRB check. This is currently the highest level of checking available. New staff must have two references before starting at the nursery

      We have banned the use of mobile phones with digital imaging equipment within the nursery, but for emergencies and outings we supply our staff with mobiles that have no recording equipment.

      All adults collecting children from nursery will have to be named on the child’s registration form and be identified beforehand. In cases of extreme emergencies, where upon a different adult is collecting the nursery require a full description of the named person and a password. It is nursery policy that no one under the age of 16 is allowed to collect any child.

      Key persons

      The Nursery has a key person system. This means that each member of staff has a group of children whom she is particularly responsible. Your child’s key person will be the person who works with you to make sure that what the Nursery provides is right for your child’s particular needs and interests. When your child first starts at the Nursery, she will help your child to settle (organising pre-visits, opportunities for you to attend the Nursery with your child and also offer a home visit) and throughout your child’s time at the Nursery, she will help your child to benefit from the Nursery’s activities.
